The guards and walls are designed to either keep you in or out. This painting is one of dozens of my impressions of China that I painted when my wife Kathleen and I lived there for a year teaching English in the year 2000. it starts with a loose sketch in acrylic and is painted over in oils. the original is for sale unframed, and giclée prints are available at reasonable rates.
