The Ghost Hole, Tillamook Bay Oregon

The Ghost Hole in Tillamook Bay is one of the most productive and famous salmon fisheries in Oregon. I painted it with choppy water and a cold stiff breeze that accompanies a tidal change. The sun is attempting to break through the fog. The fish pour in from the ocean and stack up in the bay, awaiting the first rain as a signal to enter the spawning streams that empty into it. At different times you will find runs of King salmon, coho or silver salmon, chum salmon, As well as steelhead and sea run cutthroat trout. The ghost hole is very popular because it has one of the two floating restrooms in the bay. The original is available with a certificate of authenticity and is presently showing at
